Churchyard Graves – Section 5

A survey of the surviving grave markers in the Churchyard of All Saints’, Ruskington, resulted in 156 sites and locations, which for the purposes of this analysis have been numbered accordingly and divided into SIX easily identifiable sections of the Churchyard. (See: aerial view below)

This area is on the East side of Sections 1 and 2, on the other side of the path from the Church gate to the Porch.

It covers about half of the large burial area South-east of the Church building – with Section 6 continuing further East. The Southern edge borders on The Beck and Chapel Street.

In this Section there are 57 surviving Grave Markers remaining, plus 3 (Graves 29 – 31), immediately South of the Church Porch, included on this Map for clarity, but actually part of Section 2. The locations of these are shown on the Sketch Plan below.

A list of the person(s) interred in these graves follows the Plan (N.B. Some Graves contain more than one burial). Burials in this Section date from 1783 to 1883, with William Ridley, Grave 105, being one of the last to be interred in the Churchyard before its closure; as was Hugh Martindale Myers, Grave 32.
